We are so excited to meet you at our cozy studio soon!
Yukako Kadono / Founder of Slow Stitches Studio / Natural Dyer
Hello! Welcome to Slow Stitches Studio. I am Yukako and founder of Slow Stitches Studio. I grew up in Osaka, Japan. When my first child entered grade school, I started my handwork teacher training at Fiber Craft Studio in NY. I have been teaching handwork to kids and adults since 2010 in my home studio, St. Matthew's preschool and have been working as a handwork teacher at Chicago Waldorf School. As of 2019, I opened my small, cozy studio in Arlington Heights. This has been a dream of mine since I was little. Now, my dream is to pass down my skills to anyone who would like to learn how to make something useful and beautiful by hand.
I am always happy to hear about your experience with us and any class requests. Please email us at email@example.com
Thank you. We’re all looking forward to meeting you soon!
Patricia Holdrege / Waldorf Handwork Teacher
Patricia grew up in rural Switzerland, surrounded by the beauty of nature and many people who worked with their hands. Her mother sewed and knitted much of the clothing worn by her six children. She also crocheted and embroidered. Patricia not only learned from her but also a great deal from the handwork classes she attended in the Swiss public schools. Patricia studied visual arts in Vienna, Austria for four years before moving to the United States, where she became the first handwork teacher at the Great Oaks Waldorf School in Chicago (and later Evanston). Since 1996 she has been teaching handwork (knitting, crocheting, embroidery, hand and machine sewing, felting, quilting, puppetry, and fiber preparation) at the Chicago Waldorf School. In 1999 she completed the Applied Arts Training at Sunbridge College. She has also taught seasonal craft and doll making at the Arcturus Rudolf Steiner Education Program in Chicago.
